Run for the hills
Reno is currently under water. It's been rainy and windy for three or four days now, but I didn't think it would flood. Last time there was a flood (also around New Year's) it was unseasonably warm, and all the snow melted. I, fortunately, live on top of a hill, so I'm not in any danger from the water. But my friends who live by the river... evacuation is probably in their future. In any case, many roads are closed, and only idiots are out driving right now. Hmm... and I've just discovered that the backyard doesn't seem to be draining properly, and one whole side is covered by two or three inches of water.
Another New Year's ruined by the weather. Last year we had three feet of snow, this year we have three feet of water.
